Dr. Novakovich is a board-certified orthopaedic surgeon having completed extensive education and training in sports medicine and all aspects of orthopaedic medicine. He received his undergraduate degree from Louisiana State University. Following that, he completed medical school with honors at Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center and his orthopaedic residency at the University of Alabama Birmingham. He finished his fellowship training in orthopaedic sports medicine at the prestigious Andrews Research and Education Institute, which was one of four positions under the direction of Dr. James Andrews. He has also served as team assistant and team physician at both the collegiate and professional athletic level, and is able to take care of all orthopaedic needs.
Dr. Novakovich prioritizes the patient experience, emphasizing the importance of access and availability for his patients. In addition to his goal of seeing and treating patients as quickly as possible, he always seeks out the most conservative and non-operative treatment options if he believes those are available for the patient. If those treatment options prove ineffective, surgery is then explored at that point.
Dr. Novakovich is married to his wife, Stephanie. He enjoys traveling, being outside, playing music, and spending quality time with family and friends. During football season, you can expect him to be cheering on the New Orleans Saints!
